Our client, an innovative business within edtech/eductec/e-learning are searching for a Director of Marketing Analytics & Insights / Head of Marketing Analytics & Insights / Chief Marketing Analytics & Insights Officer to lead the development and execution of fact-based reporting and analysis to inform decision-making in support of the businesses data-driven strategy.

The Director of Marketing Analytics & Insights / Head of Marketing Analytics & Insights / Chief Marketing Analytics & Insights Officer will be a strategic and technically-proficient leader, managing and developing a team of analysts and instilling a data-driven culture across the organization.

The ideal Director of Marketing Analytics & Insights / Head of Marketing Analytics & Insights / Chief Marketing Analytics & Insights Officer has successfully built and led a high-impact Marketing Analytics team and established a successful analytics infrastructure and measurement framework.

The team’s responsibilities span a range of activities across Marketing (e.g., campaign ROI measurement, channel analytics, demand waterfall reporting) and include standardized reporting as well as ad hoc reporting too. You will work closely with senior management/stakeholders, to utilize the power of data to improve the decision making and effectiveness of their teams.

The Director of Marketing Analytics & Insights / Head of Marketing Analytics & Insights / Chief Marketing Analytics & Insights Officer will have the following responsibilities:

• Lead team of Analysts to define metrics that support business needs, create reports and dashboards, identify insight and develop actionable recommendations.
• Formulate insightful hypotheses and identify approaches to validate these, distinguishing insights.
• Review Analytics reports for accuracy and timeliness and guide the team in diagnosing and resolving discrepancies.
• Provide frequent coaching and feedback to analysts to accelerate their personal development.
• Be a proactive internal thought leader and seek to improve baseline analytics capabilities across the broader Marketing organization.
• Work with cross-functional partners such as Sales Operations, Research, and Corporate Strategy to ensure efforts are well-coordinated and maximizing collective impact.
• Establish and communicate internal processes to deliver ongoing reporting and manage intake and execution of ad hoc analytics requests.
• Apply deep operational expertise in Marketing Analytics to establish data infrastructure and measurement framework that will enable impact measurement and inform decision making.
• Seek opportunities to build culture of data-driven decision-making and enhance the company’s ability to understand and implement insights stemming from Analytics work.
• Partner with internal IT teams to ensure data dependencies are identified and addressed.
• Build strong relationships with senior management/stakeholders to understand business needs and implications on Analytics priorities.
• Constantly re-evaluate the prioritization and focus of the team to ensure driving the business forward and tackling the key questions that will improve impact.
• Stay on leading-edge of new Marketing Analytics approaches and tools to drive continuous improvement and competitive advantage for the business.

The Director of Marketing Analytics & Insights / Head of Marketing Analytics & Insights / Chief Marketing Analytics & Insights Officer should have the following Qualifications:

• Strong and varied experience in core Marketing analytics areas such as campaign measurement, channel analytics, marketing automation analytics, integrated campaigns, Marketing ROI measurement, attribution models, and demand waterfall metrics
• Technical knowledge of range of Marketing Analytics systems and tools such as Excel, statistical analysis packages, SQL, data visualization tools such as Tableau, and web analytics tools such as Google Analytics or SiteCatalyst, tag management tools, and A/B testing tools
• 7+ years of analytics experience, with at least 5 years of experience in a Marketing function.
• At least 3 years direct management experience and demonstrated ability to build, lead, and coach, and develop high-performing Analytics teams.
• Strong communication skills and leadership presence
• Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills
• Bachelor’s degree
• Degree in a relevant area of study
• Higher Education industry experience would be beneficial
• MBA or other advanced degree would be beneficial
